Announcing the sale of an Australian historical business, building and landmark
Known worldwide, the Tenterfield Saddler made its name in our history books with AB “Banjo” Patterson’s poetry.
The Saddler offers a taste of this land which is unashamedly Australian. Opening the doors in 1870, it has been immortalised in Australian history by the song of Peter Alan, an autobiographical tribute to his Grandfather, the late George Woolnough, legendary saddler of the time.
“Time is a traveller, Tenterfield saddler Turn your head, Right again jackaroo, think I see kangaroo up ahead”
The business has supplied shops worldwide with beautiful hand crafted garments and leather goods for many years and is most sought after as a valuable piece of history from our magnificent Land.
Tenterfield, the tiny town has been placed in the history books as a result of the saddlery. Those who own garments with the saddlers brand hold them with respect and pride.
We are proud to be associated with the sale of this Australian icon along with the brands and freehold still standing for all its glory in the original state in Tenterfield. A rare opportunity exists to own this part of our heritage and continue the brands that are so well known and loved today. Countless visitors have made the pilgrimage to the Tenterfield Saddlery, to witness the stained ceilings where Saddlers have sat; smoking whilst crafting for over 100 years.
The sale includes the historical building, trademarks and business name.
